Wireless Firmware and Device Driver Developer
Opening for a Principal Software Engineer, Embedded Software developer with 802.11n, Linux Kernel and Network device driver experience. The person should have extensive knowledge and experience programming for Linux OS's with skills and best practices knowledge of wiring embedded software. This person will work closely with 3rd party developers and internal team to integrate, possibly debug and add enhancements to vendor and open source drivers.
Responsibilities will include all aspects of software development from design to coding and testing.
Minimal qualifications include:
· Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· Work Experience of at least 5 years in relevant field of embedded device driver and Linux Operating Systems
· Through knowledge, understanding and working experience in Software Development Life Cycle
· Hands-on experience with 802.11 a/b/g/n SoC or product development is required
· In depth knowledge of 802.11 specifications is required, including QoS, power management, etc.
· Knowledge of TCP/IP is required
· Low level experiences with chip architecture, chip bring up, MAC, and PHY
· Programming knowledge and expertise with C/C++
· Knowledge and skills to write efficient and best practice for embedded platform
Additional qualifications ("nice to have") include:
· Experience with power management
· Comfortable work in an Agile development environment
· Experience with 802.11 protocol stacks and drivers
· Experience with common bus protocols; e.g. USB, SDIO, PCIe
· Experience with ZigBee and/or Bluetooth
