The MIPI® Alliance (MIPI) is an open membership organization that develops interface specifications for mobile and mobile-influenced industries. Founded in 2003 by ARM, Intel, Nokia, Samsung, STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments., [1] In 2013,the organization has more than 220 member companies worldwide, 12 active working groups and has delivered more than 30 specifications within the mobile ecosystem in the last decade.
I ran across this when looking at camera Modules. There are also LCD and OLED Displays that accept this interface also and I see some Linux Kernel support for them.
